Goose barnacles

Goose barnacles are drifting shellfish, closely related to common rock barnacles. They have a black stalk that they use to attach themselves to flotsam such as wooden planks and boxes. They often gather together to form colonies. They are brought to the Jæren beaches on the Gulf Stream and coastal currents.
