Common scurvy grass

Common scurvy grass is common up and down the Norwegian coast and flowers as early as May and June. It is easily recognised by its perfumed, white flower heads. The plant is rich in vitamin C and in the past was used to cure a disease called scurvy which is caused by a lack of vitamin C.
