Seabirds

Seabirds know how to make best use of the nooks and ledges in rocky shore habitats, especially on exposed offshore islands where the volcanic rocks are highly fractured. The Kjørholmene island nature reserve is very rich in bird life and kittiwakes find excellent nesting sites on ledges along the steep cliffs. Photo: Roy Mangersnes
